Eukararen eguna

In honor of “Euskal eguna” the day of the Basque language on the 3rd of December, we are going to do a short reminder of the origin of the language.
The Basque language is one of the oldest language in Europe. It is not known when it was created, just that it originates in Basque Country and Navarra. After carrying out many studies on the origin of the language, nothing was found, they only concluded that it doesn't come from the Latin language or any other language.
Around the time when Romans conquered Spain, this language already existed and it wasn't lost because of the mountainous geography. This didn't let the Romans enter the Basque Country.
Over the years this language has suffered many attempts of extinction. For example, when the dictator Franco was in charge of Spain, speaking Euskera was forbidden. But thanks to the persistence of the inhabitants the language has survived.

EUSKARA LEHENGO EGUNETAN

Franco garaian euskaraz hitz egitea debakatua zegoen, bere ustetan euskaraz edo beste dialektoak.Euskaraz hitz egiten zuten orok atxilotuak edo besterik gabe desargetzen ziren. Bizitza horrela izan zen 36 urte bitartean baina 1975. urtean Franco hil egin zen eta 3 urte beranduago demokraziaren lehen botaketak egin ziren UCD-ko burua, Adolfo Suarez presindentea ateraz.Urte honetan Athletic eta Errealeko kapitainak ikurriña eramanaz atotxako futbol zelaira atera ziren, esan behar dugu Franco hilda ere ikurriña oraindik legetik at zegoela.

During the time of Franco(1939-1975) it was forbidden to speak Basque because he wanted to realize his ideas of a Spanish speaking country without any other dialects. People who spoke Basque were sent to prison or just disappeared. In 1975 Franco died and 3 years later the first democratic elections took place and Adolfo Suarez was elected as president of UCD. In the same year the captains of Bilbao and Real Sociedad entered the football field of Atotxa with an ikurriña, we have to remember that it was forbidden at that time.

In the towns they use different dialects of Basque even though they have a common one.
Some years ago it was forbidden to talk in Basque, but nowadays in schools they help you to start speaking in Basque. That's why foreign people are learning to speak Basque now.

CHILLIDA - LEKU MUSEUM

The museum Chillida - Leku has requested the process of regulation of temporary employment (ERE) and has reminded us of the closing of the museum, from January 1st 2011, as was reported in a communique.

Chillida's family have made the decision, being motivated by the situation of "deficit appellant" that, "as a practical totality" in museums of artistic work, the museum suffers and which has been aggravated by the general economic crisis, "shooting the deficit numbers to unattainable levels from the perspective of a private initiative.

Nevertheless, it has been indicated that they will continue to carry out all those parallel activities that get the public out of a jam themselves, with independence of the closing, since they are the conservation of the art heritage.

The Prices of the damages

Damages in Donostia amounted to over one million euros. The worst hit area was the Paseo Nuevo, where they will have to spend 701,500 euros.
Damage from the storm that struck the Bay of Biscay on Tuesday will cost the City of San Sebastian alot of money. To repair everything that was swept away by the huge waves that hit the city will cost, in a first estimate and regardless of VAT, 1,041,400 euros. Far from definitive, this will increase even more because it still lacks destruction of value, as those who have suffered some concession units.
As always, much of that money will go to the Paseo Nuevo, which seems to have suffered from a battle between nature and man's work. Retrieving the ride will cost at least 701,500 euros. Of this, most will cover the traditional tunnel that the sea created during the great storm. This will cost around 400,000 euros, although it is unclear whether through contributions or the City Council Building.
The restoration of the previous tunnel, which was created during the storm of March 11, 2008 and on this occasion has withstood the effects of waves, cost 100,000 euros. The amounts are also high at the time of budgeting the necessary work to repair the pavement (75,000 euros), remove the lumps of rock (50,000), replace 30 banks (25,000) and tidy up the area (25,000).
These figures do not represent the cost of repair of the Paseo Nuevo only. In order for San Sebastian to be completely repaired, it must also replace the bins (7,000 euros), install temporary fencing (7,000), restore the balustrade (6,500), fix the lighting equipment (5,000) and replace the coping destroyed or wall coverings (1,000). In addition, repair the toilets, which has been quite unfavorably, it will cost 17,000 euros. And there is still an extensive evaluation of sea walls and promenade, as well as the slopes.
In Ondarreta, repairing the beach cabins will about 102,800 euros, in the absence of a more detailed study. In the same area, rebuilding the stone wall and playground, and the relocation of benches and bins will cost 34,000 euros.
Santa Clara
Santa Clara Island is under revision, but the temporal experience of 2008 suggests that municipal technicians will be needed to clean up, costing 100,000 euros. In another symbolic part, the Peine del Viento, 41,000 euros will be needed to rebuild the platform destroyed by the waves, reposition the batter and replace the pavement.
In the Zurriola, remove the sand in the hallway outside the cabins, clean the inside and replace the windows; 14,800 euros, while replacing seven banks at the pier will cost 3,000, to replace the broken rail bridge Zurriola - 1,000 euros. A somewhat smaller amount, 17,500 euros, will repair the toilets in the area of the Kursaal. And much less the amount necessary to relocate the rail on the bridge of María Cristina (3,000 euros), replace the balustrade of the Paseo de Salamanca and Aldamar (2,000 euros) and repair the coping on the Paseo de France (1,000).

The three times champion of the world died because of "Dengue"

Andy Irons (Oahu, Hawaii, 1978) was, since I can remember, an appendage of the rolling seas of the planet.
Enjoyed and did enjoy the surfing community of nature, and this, I knew, they say, has wanted this week make him the example of human vulnerability to it. What you could do with imposing waves has, allegedly, with a tiny mosquito.
Aedes aegypti, is called the bug murderer, is attributed Irons transmission of dengue virus that has killed the Hawaiian myth, found dead Tuesday in a Dallas hotel. The insect is typically located where there is standing water and clean, pools, uncovered containers and abandoned containers pots, discarded tires or water sinks yards. The family of the deceased believed to have contracted the virus during the Rip Curl contest in Puerto Rico.
According to their loved ones to be affected by a high fever, spent two days in Miami being treated, but insisted on returning to his home (the Hawaiian island of Kauai) to be examined by his personal physician. On the way, he felt worse and could not take the flight stopover in Dallas, staying at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Its employees was found dead on Tuesday. He was 32 years old, married and with his wife eight months pregnant.
Pending an autopsy, the extended version has also found competition in the other scenarios that overshadow the end of one of the brightest stars in the history of surfing. The average 'Honolulu Advertiser Star' has been confirmed in the last hours that have been found traces of methadone and other substances, painkillers and sleeping pills "in the room where they found his body. Some sources have linked the case of drugs with athlete's own past statements that he confessed at some point be fighting "demons."
Another world-class rider, Owen Wright, said the newspaper 'The Australian' that many surfers could also be sick and described the symptoms as extreme fatigue, fever and headache. Would be a total of five: Davidson, Travis Logie and Kalani Miller, along with Wright himself and the late Iron.
According to WHO, with appropriate medical treatment, the mortality rate for dengue can be reduced to less than one thousand. However, in a small proportion of cases is experienced dengue shock syndrome, which, left unattended, can cause death within four to eight hours.
Three world titles
The champion will start a wave of performances in the next few hours but will admire his legacy on the table: three world titles (2002, 2003 and 2004), $ 1,223,033 in prize money and won twenty major events.
In 2004 Billabong produced a film about her figure, 'Blue Horizon', which stood out as the best surfer of all time. He became so dear to the governor of Hawaii ruled in 2003 that on February 13 would be 'The Andy Irons day'.

Yesterday the stock market in spain had a big decrease in two quotes ( BBVA and Santander) with 3.52% and 3.45% respectively. The debate between proponents and opponents of the bulls is more than ever on the street. In Spain, the taurine herds occupy an area of 540,000 hectares and the bull runs generate a turnover of 2,500 million euros every year. Bullfights are still the basis of many popular festivals, in major fairs a high percentage of places is still packing. In fact, the bulls is the second most watched show in Spain after football.

The encahausted opponents , like me, consider that the bull is a breed that could survive without the man raising like other multiple species. The United Nations Educational and Cultural Organitation, UNESCO, defines the act of fighting as " terrible and venal art of torturing and killing animals in public; ir is a challenge, morality, education, science and culture". UNESCO should be taken into account and colling for the abolition of what they consider a bloody whow.

TWO BASQUE SURFERS SURVIVE TO THE TSUNAMI OF INDONESIA

Two surfers Basques have survived the tsunami that struck this morning off the coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, which has killed at least 40 dead and 380 missing. Joining them also were five Cantabrian, two Asturians, two Uruguayans, two French and Galicians.
The surfers were part of an expedition to the Mentawai archipelago and were surprised by the tsunami while they were sleeping on board in a private boat. Apparently, the choice of a sheltered anchorage located between the islands was crucial to avert disaster.

During the early hours of the day, the expedition came to the aid of other vessels in the area. They found so many resorts have been "totally devastated" and that a ship had disappeared and another was burned, among other situations. The surfers had planned to stay in the area until November 3rd.

The tsunami was triggered by an earthquake near the island of Sumatra and devastated several remote islands in western Indonesia. The earthquake of 7.5 magnitude on the Richter scale, occurred 78 kilometers from South Pagai, in the Mentawai Islands, late on Monday. Many buildings in the coastal town of Betu Monga have been destroyed.

In addition, a ship carrying tourists in the 8 to 10 Australians has not kept radio contact since the earthquake. Also, the resort Macaronis surfer on the island of North Pagai, was also seriously damaged.

DEBT DROP

The Basque Government inverted 350 million in a lower interest than in July. This is going to give them more time to get enough money.

Institutional inverstors have created this investment. Mainly savings banks, investment of funds and pensions.

It seems that the market is suffering a financial normalization. Especially there has been an improvement in the credibility of the solvency of Spain. It seems that Zapatero's cost cuts are having results.

It follows that the debt will increase in the rest of the year and in 2011 too.

HOW TO LOOK FOR A JOB

When we finish studing or we want to start to work we have to know how to look for a job and what kind of steps we have to take.
We can find different opcions to find a job, this are some where you can look for:
1- Look in the paper
2- Go to the INEM (Instituto Nacional de Empleo)
3- Send your curriculum to the companys
4-You also have the chance to send you curriculum to the companys by internet, because many companys give you that posibility.

Also, depends on the job you are looking for you can put some cartels in the street and another way is the mouth to mouth resuscitation, which consist on tell to your family or friends that you are looking for a job and if they can help you to find one, although there is other possibility that you know one of the employer and he mades you the favour for putting you in the company.

ANOTHER REAL ESTATE MINI BUBBLE

Something is happening in the real estate market. maybe for the proximity of the 31/12/2010, in this date the buyers with incomes above EUR 24,100 per year will be without tax relief for purchase of flat. But this is not necesary a god news, the next year when finish this demand the price of flat will fall more. That is the problem.
For that reason the banks are doing a lots of offers right now, they are trying to take advantage in this moment. But some people dont know which is the better solution, maybe they can wait for cheaper flat but whitout tax relief or pay now and take advantage whit this discount, This is not an easy decision.
In the real estate sector are afraid that in 2011 the market will be equal like in the car industry after the plan 2000 finished (sales colapse).
In my opinion the Goverment have to do something about that problem to stop the crisis.
When sunrise we´ll see it.

sport in our city

Nowadays in our country the sport has become very important. We are lucky because this year we have the football, basketball and the ice hockey team in the first divission, this three teams are Real Sociedad, Lagun Aro GBC and Txuri Urdin.

The sport we actually do in San Sebastian is surfing in zurriola`s beach. But like all the cities we normally do in the free time football matches with the friends.

There is an english sport called "skateboard" that usually we practised them too in the three skateparks we have in Amara, Intxaurrondo and Aiete.

The main Industry in Guipuzcoa

Guipuzcoa have an high ocupation in the industrial sector which is a 38,6%. Nevertheless in the agricultural sector the ocupation is very low with a 3,1%. The principal sector that has been increased with the years is services or terthiary that it becomes until 51% and in the construction area has a 10% of ocupation.
Farming and fishing industries have been a tradition for many years in Guipuzcoa and around all the Basque country. At the montainus areas we can see cattle and a lot of vegetables garden and in coastal zone the main view is about fishermen.
Euskal Herria is an area where industrial activity has caused
a lot of changes at our enviromet. The presence of iron and the abundance of wood enabled the development of this activity. The industry is located in very specific areas of geography, with the coastal areas and near rivers which concentrate the highest levels of employment.

The opinion of the businessmans

Here the businessmans think that the crisis will last a lot before the recuperation. Because of their oun statistics they have known that this situation is going to change in 3 or 4 years.

Some people think that the problem to recuperate are the pensions. In this moments are being later retirements, they will revise the persons who can work perfectly and the minors of 60 years.

They want to do a laboral reform and a pensions reform.

BUSINESS START UP IDEAS

It is so difficult to be a new business person and we have to admit that now isn’t a great time to stat up a business.

The first thing do you have to think about is what kind of business you want to stat up: personal trainer, clothes shop, online business…

The second and very important thing do you have to take an account is the personality you have. The commitment, the motivation, the emotional resilience…

So what type of person is likely to start a business today? Statistic on business start ups reveal that the majority of entrepreneurs are people who lives in the South East and who is in his forties.

Now the crisis we are passing is making harder for young people to start new business.

You can take more information in this web site: http://www.startups.com

Entrepreneurship

I am sure that you have listened to this word, but who can define it?

For my point of view entrepreneurship is used for the students, to learn how the business world is. Lot of students thinks that to create a company is an easy task but they are a bit far from reality. At the beginning, the work you have to do is very hard, because you have to find the innovative idea, the way you have to finance it...

This type of projects help us learning how we have to face of the problems which will appear when we decide to create a new company.

Unemployment

I'm going to write about the unemployment in Guipuzcoa.
To be unemployed means that you don't have any work, but that you would like to have one.
This year the unemployment in Guipuzcoa has increase a 31,7%,in Alto Urola, Alto Deba and Urola Medio had the worst part of the unemployment, that had more than a 50%.
Actually, there are some courses to retrain people so that they can find a job or create a new company.

Cynthia

FINANCE

I´m going to write about the finance, a future jobs.
The finance are most important because are the capital or the money of the company, you could diference With two fundamental aspects:
we used the finances to buy more things or pay to the other people to create the company and also to take benefites.

I´m my opinion, the finance are basic in real life.
Everyday we use the money to buy a lot of things, that are necesary to survive.
This concep is aplicated to companys, because the propietary deposite the capital into the company and them use this money to start a company.

In conclusion, the finance are import in real life and in companys because we use money always.

Technology & Innovation

In this moment the crisis concerns all parts of Spain. In Gipuzkoa they are making different things to try to resolve that problem. One of the things are to invest money in Techonology, Innovation and Sciences.

Basque Government wants to invest 10.000,00 euros and generate advantages in the global economy.

Looking for a job

If you are looking for a job in Guipuzcoa is better if you can speak other languages. Euskera, English or French are the most important here.

The Basque country is one the community that has less unemployment in Spain but I think it depends on what kind of job you are looking for.

Here, to find a job in an office or a company is more dificult than to find it in a store or an restaurant. That is the reason why i think we have to study some carrer.

In administrations area we have oportunities but we need to have experience, if you are interesting in that area i recomend make some course with practice, that is the way you can get experience and maybe find a good job in a company.
Good luck

María José

JOBS

In the actual society we can get a job searching in the paper of your country but the people says that not all the jobs are so easy to find it.

In my opinion finding a job it can be easy or difficult looking the contacts you have to find that job or maybe the contacts you dont have so you have to find it. There are some jobs like building scenes, work in your fathers shop... this job are quite easy to find because in the case of the building scenes is a job that need it people to build it.

There are some websides that you can find job there easier like the case of INEM.

My personal post, Edurne

I am very happy to have taken this course in multilingual class because it has helped me to lose the shame to speak English and express myself better.
I also believe this will help me in future because our profession is related to foreign languages.
Thanks to the work of our business teachers, we had the opportunity to travel to Prague International Fair and practice our knowledge. We learned to do business with companies from other countries and we saw that it was not as easy as we thought.

Thanks to my classmates and teachers for everything!

My personal Post. Ainhoa

Hi to everyone!

The academic year 2009/2010 is now finished and is now is the time to study for the final exams of June.
This will be the last time I write this blog, but in September I´ll come back again, and I´m sure I´ll bring some new news to share with you.

I started the year with fear, I can not deny it, but everything has gone perfectly.
I meet new people, new ways of teaching, which led me to go ahead with a smile. Above all, I could continue practicing English, which for me is important
.
I have had new experiences as we travel to Prague in March, where I had a great time.
Teachers have always been there when we needed, and this is welcome.
I hope all goes well from now on.
Finally, thank everyone you follow us through this blog.

See you son!!!!!

My Personal Post, Eva.

I'm very happy of have chosen these studies in English. It's a very good experience.

These studies are helping me to speak more fluent in English and to learn specific terminology of finance. This might come useful for me if someday I decide to go to work abroad.

Moreover we have had the opportunity to travel and practice our English abroad, in Prague.

We have had good times and bad times, but thanks to the help and support that the teachers have given us we have pulled through.

I want to say THANK YOU to my group and to the teachers for give me the opportunity to know about this course in English.

See you in September!!

=P

Hello I´m a student of multilingua. In two days we finish with the classes and we begin with final exams! This year has been very estimulant for me, I inproved some important skills that I consider very important to find a job and also I improved my capacity to comunicate in english. Being honest this months have passed very fast and sometimes very fun, with the fair trade in Prague or adquiring notions of how to invest in the stock market, for example.
In September we come back after the hollydays to finish the curse and to be prepared to work in english. I´m sure that my group mates and I will succeed.
See you soon

My personal Post, Zhanna

Hi =)
This is my last post this school year. We are having our final exams this week and then we go on holidays. As long as I finished this year I've got a lot of impressions, and I would like to share them with you. First of all I have met a lot of new people, and made friends. I had a perfect chance to get to know Spanish people better. Of course the school year wasn't easy, despite I think I've gotten new knowledge that would be useful in my future work. I want to say 'thank you' to my group-mates and all the teachers for helping me to adapt to a new environment. I suppose I was working hard during the year and now I have the final step- exams. I hope I will pass everything.
Wish me good luck, and see you in September. =)* Poka-Poka!

One day with GAZE

Tuesday, the 11th of may we had an event outside of school. We went to participate in a project. The organizator of this project was GAZE. GAZE is a project dedicated to promote the sense of initiative of young people from different centres of high education of Gipuzkoa. The aim of the project was to prepare students for real life business situations. We were supposed to solve some problems of different companies.
The event started at 9:30 with Jose Ramón Guridi's presentation. He is the deputy of Innovation and knowledge society. GAZE explained what is the aim of the project and at the end of the presentation two teachers from “Mondragon Unibertsitatea” explained what we were going to do during the day.
To start with, we were divided into three groups of approximately 40 people. We were in three different rooms with different organizations, such as Emaus, Iriscom, Urretxu's city hall and some people from travel agency. Then, we were participating in a “Check In” method to get to know each other better.
The companies presented us real problems. We were given some time for think about the solution and make our presentation. We think that the experience we've got there will help us in our future work.
It was very interesting to take part in this project. We spent very good time.

Thank you GAZE!

Wishes

The WISHES Networking Days

They are an effective networking event to promote and engage within a high potential network and thus offer an effective way to sustainably initiate new co-operations in European funding schemes – sustainably realizing networking potentials.
Based on the individual and institutional offerings and desires as submitted upon registration the WISHES IT based matching application will automatically match and recommend high potential cooperating partners towards each other. This virtual matching enables the conference participants to effectively single out and identify high potential cooperating partners long before meeting them onsite. Thus, potentially interesting cooperating partners will be identified prior to the conference, resulting in the possibilities to prepare potential face-to-face meetings onsite in due time. Thus, these IT based pre-conference activities ensure a successful conference participation – even before arrival!

Students in Sweden

From the 3rd to the 9th of March a group of students from first year "bachillerato" went to Örebro in Sweeden with an exchange program. They were with host families and students from Virginska school. They made a tours to different places such as Stockholm and Örebro. The Virginska school students organized activities to show the Zubiri students about their customs and studies.

We thought it would be interesting to ask these Zubiri students about their trip, to find out how Swedish culture effects businesses. We will be asking them about their free time in Sweden and their impressions of the trip.
