COSMETIC INDUSTRY


The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) which regulates cosmetics in the United States[1] defines cosmetics as: "intended to be applied to the human body for cleansing, beautifying, promoting attractiveness, or altering the appearance without affecting the body's structure or functions."
Cosmetic products are important consumer products with an essential role in everyone's life: apart from "traditional" cosmetic products, such as make-up and perfumes, it also includes products for personal hygiene, for example tooth-care products, shampoos and soaps.
Today's cosmetic market is driven by innovation , treatments for diferent types of skins, new colour pallets and unique formulas for every needs. Most cosmetics factories have to fight to stay ahead in a highly competitive market where the customers are the decision makers.

Cosmetics sales are just recovering from the crisis. The second quarter of the year, products like hygiene , perfumes and makeup accesories have increased about an 11% in realtion to last year. The national and foreing factories associated with the chamber of the cosmetic industry have earnd $1800 milions on 2009.

The highest growth has been in places that cosmetic has become one of the most important thing like United States, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.
